Utah Department of Health: Asthma Program

This program offers many people with Utah to get involved with many activities relating to asthma.  Schools can get involved with teaching students about asthma and its effects on the human body.  Health professionals can receive free asthma education to help them keep abreast of the latest information in asthma care and education.  Check out the Upcoming Events

U.S. Environmental Protection Agency

Join this U.S. EPA in the national effort to raise awareness of asthma.  May is Asthma Awareness Month.  This is just around the corner.  You can download EPA’s Asthma Awareness Month Event Planning Kit featuring new ideas for outreach and awareness activities, tips for working with the media, success stories, and much more.  Get involved in your community this coming May!

American Lung Association of Utah

This association sponsors Asthma Camp which is held in Camp Wapiti-Tooele, Utah on July 11-16, 2010.  This camp is a great place to make new friends, spend time outdoors, and learn about asthma.  This camp has nearly 30 counselors with a medical staff that help the campers learn to control their asthma while doing things they love to do.  Look more into Asthma Camp.

Strive for 5 Blue Balloon Day

Governor Jon Huntsman Jr. has announced that Blue Balloon Day, which has been in conjunction with World Asthma Day, to be observed the first Tuesday in May.  With the support of the many elementary schools in the state of Utah, school will participate by wearing blue to school, sign a pledge, and/or release a blue balloon.  This activity will be used as a means to educate children about asthma, encourage children to stay tobacco free, and to promote clean air.

Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America

The Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America (AAFA) and their volunteers work to develop and implement public policies to improve the quality of life for people with asthma and allergies.  Visit their advocacy website to find out what you can do to make a difference.
